We were there for 4 days. Very very nice bungalows with seperate bath rooms, fan and private hammocks. The personal helps you with everything and speaks french and english fluently. The belgian Chef Pepe cooks delicious. The best breakfast I've had for a long time with real coffe (not that instant stuff you everywhere get). It's a one minute walk to the beach and a 5min walk to the bars and restaurants. If you like you can use the new pool and store & cook things in the kitchen.
I can highly recommend this place. Next time i go to Mancora i will stay there for sure.
Awesome experience! My buddy and I panned on spending three nights here. Ended up staying six. Its a two minute walk to the main drag and a four minute walk to the main surf break. Its also just far enough away so you dont hear the loud music downtown late night. I've been back in the states for two days and I'm ready to go back. Thank you Pilar, Pepe, and the rest of the Laguna crew!
I had a pleasure to stay at Laguna Surf with my 2 friends and I loved this place. Nice and clean bungalows, safe, close to the beach and most importantly - fantastic and very friendly people who work there. We also loved the food served at the local restaurant.
My friend Erica and I stumbled onto this place after already paying for another place. Regardless, we immediately rented a room and marched back to collect our stuff--which was one of the best decisions we made all trip. Pilar and Pepe (the Belgian chef) are friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about things to do in Mancora and outlying towns (like swimming with sea turtles), Pepe's food is amazing, Luna and Rum (the dogs) act as defunct therapy pets if you're missing your own (which I was), there are hammocks every place you care to flop, and the beach is a close enough that the surf lulls you to sleep at night. Our room had great netting and as long as we kept the bathroom door shut, we didn't have a problem with mosquitoes.
Laguna is also great because it's off the main strip by a few blocks, so while the weekend bar/club noise travels, it's not as intense as at other hostels. AND you have a nice private beach area away from the more crowded strip.
In total, we stayed for nine nights and I wish it could've been longer.
After staying at Kokopelli's for 3 loud nights we really needed somewhere a bit quieter & cheaper.
Just far enough off the tourist track to be peaceful but only 5 minutes walk away if you want to get a drink or some dinner, Laguna's was our haven.
They've just had a pool fitted which was really nice & the food in the restaurant was probably the best in all of Mancora. Great breakfast & their Rico milkshakes really are muy rico. Also had probably the best tuna I have ever had, better than La Sirena d' Juan & not with such an outrageous price attached. A must visit for a break from the garish party scene.
